Adair's Vetaxio - Iblis Adonay
A downloadable project
This composition was created for the OST Composing Jam [Sandbox] on Itch.io, drawing inspiration from Johann Sebastian Bach's Crab Canon and paying homage to iconic works in gothic-style video games.
The purpose of this piece is to reflect the final battle between the protagonist and the final boss, Iblis Adonay. In this story, Iblis is a fallen angel, and you are a being sent by God to eliminate the last threat that could lead humanity into "heresy." However, Iblis's true goal is to open humanity's eyes to the "true God," who has been corrupted by power and the desire to control His own creation. As the protagonist, you are aware of this truth. The composition represents the conflict between both sides:The melody is expressed through the violins that represents the protagonist, while Iblis, the fallen angel, is portrayed by the cello, with a reversed melody. The conclusion of the piece mirrors the clash between the two, as both melodies converge in unison, resolving in a cadence on the tonic, leaving the ultimate outcome of the conflict open to interpretation.
The cover art depicts Iblis Adonay being held by the hands of God. The serpent represents the original sin—the ability to distinguish between good and evil—as it questions God's authority over His creation.
